SATURDAY, MARCH 31,
2007 Contact: David Siegel (dsiegel@axcis.com) The Second Annual
East-West Amateur Driving Challenge completed its first three of six legs
last night at Cal-Expo in Sacramento under sunny skies and warm. The two-day series continues Tonight with
three more races (races five, seven and nine) to close out the competition. The West holds a narrow
lead in points (66-64) so the competition is clearly up for grabs. The West began on top with James Foley
piloting Debupante in an upset over Pacing Artist (Joe Faraldo). The tables were turned big time in the
second leg when super-long-short Michelle Ruvola blew up the tote board at
more than 70-1 driving Cicely Coe leaving all of her male counterparts in the
dust in the lone trotting event of the series. With the East well in front at this point, Team West rallied with
a 1-2-3 victory in the final leg of Friday’s contest with Benny Alvarez
crossing the wire first with Corregal N. Racing continues tonight
at Cal-Expo with a 5:50pm. Detailed
stands of the Challenge can be found in the Challenge section of the
California Amateur Driving Club’s website www.thecadc.com. Racing Fans will be able
to get free Platinum Plus 12-line Xtra programs for tonight’s races courtesy
