East vs West Invitational Amateur Driving Challenge

Dates:

Friday April 4 and Saturday April 5, 2008

Races:

3 per night to be determined by Race Secretary and Cal-Expo

Horses:

Entered as usual but without designated drivers

Drivers:

Drivers owning or training entered horse will be assigned to drive that horse

All remaining drivers will be assigned based on pre-determined post slots balancing participation and post assignments

Driver-Post assigments appear below.  Race Secretary to randomly assign races to the six configurations below.

The West team will provide a standby driver in case of last minute illness.

Points:

Only team points will be awarded

Points will be accumulated based on the official finish position of each horse in the race according to

the chart below.

For the purposes of the chart only, "Starters" will be the number of horses that start the race for the team

with the fewer number of horses in a particular race times 2.  For example, if there are 9 horses programmed,

5 for the East team and 4 for the West team, and one of the 4 West team's horses are scratched, while there

would be 8 actual horses that race, the number of starters for point purposes would be 6.

If there are an unbalanced number of horses that race for each team, the unbalanced portion for the team with

the greater number of horses racing will be ignored for point purposes only.  Using the above example, the

two East team's horses that finish "worst" of their 5 would be ignored for point purposes only.

Other:

Any rule not specifically addressed above or otherwise established by CADC will be decided by CADC

Executive Committee or Race Office as appropriate

Schedule below does not pertain to any particular race number.  When less than 10 horses entered, drivers simply

do not race in that leg.  Schedule below is configured to balance participation and post assignments between teams and drivers
